About John Haldane's Creative Art
John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. His artwork has been featured in fine art galleries in Arizona and North Carolina and in calendars, books, and magazines. The magazines include The Scenic, the Laurel of Asheville, The Writers & Artists Quarterly, COSTCO Magazine, Wild WNC News, Camera in the Wild Magazine, and more. He has had articles published in several of the these magazines as well.
Haldane's art is unique; created using cameras, software, digital tools, and/or paints. Each piece is totally unique.
John is a member of the Carolina Nature Photographers Association (CNPA). He has also joined the Friends of the WNC Nature Center, the North Carolina Arboretum, The Great Smoky Mountains Association (Lifetime Member), the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, and others because he believes in buying from local people and supporting local causes. He has donated art to numerous local charities.
With over 25 years of experience using Adobe Photoshop, Haldane has honed his photography development skills to go with with more than 40 years of film and digital camera work. He has, and continues to, travel the world taking photos of flora, fauna, and people. Having visited over 40 countries from pole to pole and around the globe, you will find many unique and fascinating images on his site.
The Asheville Regional Airport Gallery has twice shown Haldane's artwork. His piece, "Leaves in Ice" placed in a CNPA competition called "Abstract Appalachia," he had a "Uniquely Asheville" art show at the Green Sage Westgate, Asheville, in 2016 and also at the Green Sage South Jan-March 2017. It will be shown again at the Green Sage Westgate Jan 15 - Apr 15, 2020 and at the Green Sage South Apr 15 - June 15, 2020. Additionally, the Uniquely Asheville collection was shown for several months in the lobby of WPVM radio, on Wall Street in Asheville.
Cheddar's Restaurant in Asheville purchased 3 prints that are on display in their dining area. The Mission Hospital in Asheville purchased 10 of his images for display and The Loft in downtown Asheville selected two of his pieces for each of their 118 guest rooms.
Haldane's photographs have four times been featured in the Ray's Weather Blue Ridge Parkway Calendar and have been purchased for other calendars as well.
His art has received awards granted by various organizations and websites including CNPA.

If you have old pictures that are worn, torn, bent, have writing on them, or are otherwise damaged, he may be able to help. Send those family memories to him, and he may be able to repair, enhance, and enlarge them. Included in this service is photo restoration, enlargement (where possible), antique effects such as sepia tones, color enhancements of color photos, and digital copies emailed to you so you can share these photos online with family members. This is a BEFORE and AFTER version of one photo restoration that Haldane completed for a customer. There are many other possibilities, including removing people or objects from your photos, combining two photos into one, and much more.
