No. 611 was one of fourteen Class J passenger locomotives built for the Norfolk & Western Railway between 1941 and 1950 and the only one in existence today. On April 10, 2016, it made a run from Spencer, NC to Asheville and back, hauling 20 cars filled with passengers. This profile pic was taken at Swannanoa, NC as she steamed towards Asheville.
