This image was created after participating in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk, October 11, 2014. In Asheville, the artists and entertainers will bend over backwards to give you a good show and to collect your kind donations. At the end of Wall Street, in front of the Flat Iron Building, this gentleman attracted crowds with his defiance of gravity.
This is my "contest" submission for the Photo Walk. I took the photo on Wall Street while lying on my back as he leaned as far back as he could go. His angle, the angle of the building, the lines of the windows and sidewalk cracks, and the area I colored all converge towards the upper left "rule of 9" square. I used Photoshop skills to accentuate the falling man while leaving the rest in drawing mode to emphasize the lines. I believe this combination of photography and art is just what Kelby Media is all about. I love his expression, the fact that his hat stays on, and the colors. I hope you like it, too.
