In an old gravel lot stands a building with peeling stucco over original brick. No Parking signs stand at odd angles, some marked up with graffiti. Yet on this wall of urban decay stand three signs: Laugh, Love, Hope. Even the windows, painted pink and blue, give lie to the decay and life to the message of the signs. This is urban Asheville, but could be anytown.
John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. His artwork has been featured in fine art galleries in Arizona and North Carolina and in calendars, books, and magazines.
