Artist's Description
If you want a place that is truly Asheville, look no further than Malaprop's Bookstore and Cafe. Founded in 1982 by a political exile from communism, freedom is celebrated here through poetry and prose, local foods and drinks, and community gathering. The sculpture in front of the building just add to the atmosphere and Asheville ambiance that makes this a must-see stop when downtown.
About John Haldane
John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. His artwork has been featured in fine art galleries in Arizona and North Carolina and in calendars, books, and magazines. The magazines include The Scenic, the Laurel of Asheville, The Writers & Artists Quarterly, COSTCO Magazine, Wild WNC News, Camera in the Wild Magazine, and others. He has had articles published in several of these magazines as well. Haldane's art is unique, created using cameras, software, digital tools, and/or paints. Haldane is a member of the Carolina Nature Photographers Association (CNPA).
