I titled this "Merlin," but it could be any magician gazing into a crystal ball. The key to the piece was the blackness lit only by the magic glow in the bright sphere. There is just enough color to bring the image to life, but the deliberate darkness conveys mystery as does the figure in the glowing orb...

John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina.
