Artist's Description
The most photographed site in Maine is the iconic view of the Portland Headlight at Cape Elizabeth. This is where Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who is my cousin and lived 2 houses down from my Nana, composed several of his poems. I have memories of being here with my family and this is where I came Sept 12, 2001 for peace and reflection after the events of the day before.

Hey John, I am visiting my Dad in Winter Park, FL, and in browsing the site on his computer, I came across this photo. I am an FAA member also, and have done a watercolor painting of the same lighthouse from nearly the exact same view! Obviously, I love that perspective and both of our pieces! Check it out if you care to on my site. Barbara Jewell "Maine Attraction."
