Artist's Description
A young girl and her dog listen to the drums of Asheville on a beautiful Spring day as the red bud trees color the background.
Watching and listening to the Asheville Drum Circle is a highlight of any tourist’s visit to this mountain town. Every Friday night, weather permitting, drummers, dancers, and crowds of observers gather in Pritchard Park to spend 3 or 4 hours enjoying the "Heartbeat of the Mountains." I enjoy spending time there taking portraits of the many fascinating people who come to the event.
Haldane Creative Art includes candid street photography by John Haldane of Asheville, North Carolina.
I specialize in Black and White candid head shots of people on the streets of Asheville, North Carolina, but occasionally photos like this one look better in color. I use a Canon 7D Mark II camera and a 100-400mm lens, hand held, maintaining a safe distance to enable candid portraits.
