On every Friday evening, weather permitting, scores of drummers and hundreds of people gather at Pritchard Park to hear and experience the drums. Some listen, some dance, many join in. The crowd is colorful, engaging people of all ages, social status, race, religion, creed, and color. Hippies and businessmen join vacationers and locals. This is an event not to miss if you are ever in Asheville on a Friday night.
John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. His artwork has been featured in fine art galleries in Arizona and North Carolina and in calendars, books, and magazines. The magazines include The Scenic, the Laurel of Asheville, The Writers & Artists Quarterly, COSTCO Magazine, Wild WNC News, Camera in the Wild Magazine, and others.
