Artist's Description
This poignant piece was created from street photography in Asheville, NC. His name was Earl Gray but everyone called him Happy. He tended a wall on Biltmore Avenue in Asheville where people would write what they wanted "before I die." When asked himself what he wanted, he smiled and replied, "I want to just be Happy." Happy died Oct 25, 2016 from cancer at age 65. Another kind-hearted soul gone too soon.
About John Haldane
John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. His artwork has been featured in fine art galleries in Arizona and North Carolina and in calendars, books, and magazines. The magazines include The Scenic, the Laurel of Asheville, The Writers & Artists Quarterly, COSTCO Magazine, Wild WNC News, Camera in the Wild Magazine, and others. He has had articles published in several of these magazines as well. Haldane's art is unique, created using cameras, software, digital tools, and/or paints. Haldane is a member of the Carolina Nature Photographers Association (CNPA).
