In the woods of Western North Carolina, in the mountains, in Spring, come the blooms of amazing and colorful wildflowers. The Dwarf Iris grows under trees and along streams, in fields and beside roadways. It is small, as its name implies, so look for it. This photo was taken behind my house, under the canopy of my wooded lot, on a warm late April day.
