Painted Pileated Woodpecker: Pileated Woodpeckers are parrot sized and beautiful. This male visits my woodland home frequently to pound on old logs and dead tree stumps. Taken with a Canon EOS 7D camera in East Asheville and then painted using a number of digital tools.
