Happiness abounds at the Asheville Drum Circle and is reflected in the faces of all people of all races, ages, and nationalities. It is an honor for me to candidly capture those moments of joy reflected on the faces of the people. This woman's smile could lift anyone's spirits.
One of the reasons I take candid shots and do not ask permission is to get moments like this. If you ask permission, you either get a "no" or, if yes, then a posed photo. In public, permission is not required and don't you agree that candid photos are so much better?

John Haldane is a published professional artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. His artwork has been featured in fine art galleries in Arizona and North Carolina and in calendars, books, and magazines. The magazines include The Scenic, the Laurel of Asheville, The Writers & Artists Quarterly, COSTCO Magazine, Wild WNC News, Camera in the Wild Magazine, and others. He has had articles published in several of these magazines as well. Haldane's art is unique, created using cameras, software, digital tools, and/or paints.
