Artist's Description

In late afternoon, the light light passing into shadow becomes more pronounced, creating moods and contrasts more interesting than when the sunj is high in the sky. During the Summer of 2018, I specialized in Black and White candid head shots of people on the streets of Asheville, North Carolina. Most of the photos were taken at the weekly Asheville Drum Circle in Pritchard Park or on the surrounding sidewalks. I used a Canon 7D Mark II camera and a 100-400mm lens, hand held to maintain a safe distance and to enable candid portraits.
