Description

The Turk's Cap is a wildflower related to the Tiger Lily. Found abundantly in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Summer, it is a beautiful spotted orange. This photo was captured at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway in early July. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in these mountains, bringing welcome rain but also wonderful lighting for photographers.
