Description
At 123 feet, the lighthouse on Petit Island is one of Maine’s tallest. It’s also among the oldest, established in 1817. Today the island is part of the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge near Bar Harbor. A boat tour is the best way to view the lighthouse – and the way we went.
The Voyage of the Vikings on the Holland America (HAL) cruise ship, Zaandam, began and ended in Boston, Massachusetts. Highlights included Maine, Newfoundland, Labrador, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Netherlands, Ireland, and Scotland.
